Softworks offers full functionality for editing but without
video/audio I/O. Media can be accessed/transferred by removable
drives, networked operation, etc. Both SD and HD material can be
edited and mixed together on the timeline.
Softworks is ideal for lower-cost additional systems in a network
- in today's dynamic world it also provides a real working
environment for editors on the move with laptop.
Priced at under £5K (€7,500/ $9,500), Softworks is available with
or without the Lightworks Console.
Softworks LE is the "light" edition of Softworks
without all the effects but at a price of less than £2K (€3,000/
$3,800). It offers the ideal solution for a portable system allowing
a story to be cut together with the renowned Lightworks ease of
use.

The Lightworks VIT is a multi-channel Ingest
facility which provides efficient Ingest without tying-up valuable
Edit Suites. With support for up to four simultaneous ingest
channels and a full toolset for optimised ingest, Lightworks VIT
provides a cost effective solution when time is important or when
Edit Suites can be better utilised for Editing rather than
Ingest.
Supporting SD and HD formats and a range of codecs, Lightworks
VIT can operate in many different applications. Media ingested can
be utilised in most popular current edit systems and operations and
metadata interchange have been optimised for use with Lightworks
Alacrity.
Those familiar with the previous Lightworks VIP product will see
the same fast operation and simplified workflow but tailored to
today's multi-format world.

Sharknet comprises a full range of networking options for any of the Lightworks products.
Sharknet takes advantage of the latest gigabit and 10-gigabit Network Attached Storage technologies as well as 2-gigabit and 4-gigabit Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies to fit the requirements of the user exactly.
Networks can therefore be scaled from a simple 2-user system with gigabit connection through to a 100-seat network and beyond. Any network can include full path, disk, controller and enclosure redundancy. Features such as dynamically-assignable user workspaces and flexible user rights are available for those who require it. Storage can scale from a couple of hours to tens of thousands of hours of media.
