The new concept is capable of housing multiple functions - such as routing, optical transport interfaces, processing and distribution/ conversion, all in the same frame with one control system! Imagine the possibilities! With Fjord, hardware and software incompatibility issues are things of the past.

The free4^® concept is unprecendented. It offers any combinations of HD-SDI, SDI, DVB-ASI, AES-110, RS-422 ported, Telco 140/155Mbps, Telco 34/45Mbps or any other digital format, plus analogue video and audio all in the same frame, with a single control system.

1U, 2U, 3U and 4U frames are available. For future-proof scaleability, frames can be cascaded and today’s purchase can be used tomorrow in a larger frame.

Full redundancy is available, single or redundant power supplies, single or redundant controller cards and single or redundant crosspoint cards. The control system provides advanced alarm handling.

The free4^® multi format controller (FC-MF), with embedded Linux operating system, offers you advanced functionality. The Fjord FleetMaster control software is perhaps the world's most sophisticted router control package, and will control all Fjord products. A range of fully configurable control panels is available. These can standalone or sit in the front of the 1U frames.
